Paris’ Promises: Did Hilton Make Good On Her Post-Jail Pledges?
After serving a 23-day jail sentence last June, Paris Hilton made a very public vow on Larry King to change her ways. So after nearly 10 months in which she has had plenty of time to make good, has the 27-year-old heiress kept her promises?
“I want to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer, multiple sclerosis,” Paris told Larry at the time.
First up, multiple sclerosis.
A spokesperson for the national chapter told Access, “she has not reached out to us.”
But, the Hiltons are long time supporters.
After weeks of investigation, Access Hollywood was unable to confirm that Paris has reached out to the American Cancer Society either.
As for raising money for children, Access has confirmed Paris did spend two hours at Children’s Hospital in LA, visiting the neonatal intensive care and children’s cancer unit.
Hilton also promised her drunk driving days were over.
“I will never drink and drive again,” Paris said.
Paris appears to have kept that promise.
As for her pledge to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to atone for her past alcohol related offense.
“I’d love to work with them,” she previously told Larry.
As of today, MADD said they have not heard from the heiress.
But that hasn’t stopped Paris from endorsing a line of sparkling wine.
A provocative Paris posed nude, coated in gold paint, and attended a press conference in Germany for Rich Prosecco in December.
For each item sold, Paris reportedly will donate a portion to the Rich Water Foundation, which brings drinking water to drought ridden areas.
Paris also promised to do less partying.
“I’m frankly sick of it,” she told Larry. “I’ve been going out for a long time now.”
Celebrity Web site guru Perez Hilton, an expert on the party scene, said Paris has kept that promise.
“I think she definitely has scaled down the amount of club going and even parties at her house that she used to have and do before,” he said.
He said “scaled down,” though, not stopped and photos showed the heiress frolicking in a skimpy outfit in Las Vegas as she celebrated her 27th birthday at Pure nightclub in February.
Paris also promised she would help build a transitional home for the less fortunate women she met in jail.
“I want to help set up a place where these women can get themselves back on their feet,” she told Larry.
As of press time, following numerous e-mails and phone calls to Paris’ spokesperson, Access has not had any confirmation of this plan.
But, in Paris’ defense, she did visit a South African school for two hours last month, autographing bikini-clad photos of herself, while touring with her Good Charlotte boyfriend Benji Madden.
