Pamela Anderson’s PETA AD Too Sexy For Montreal

An ad featuring Pamela Anderson’s famous figure has been deemed too sexy to unveil in Montreal.

The former “Baywatch” babe had planned to unveil her latest campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) – a vegetarian ad – in the Canadian city, but was denied a permit, according to an e-mail a local official reportedly sent to the animal rights organization.

The ad shows Pamela in a bikini, with different parts of her body marked off like she is a piece of meat. The ad attempts to promote vegetarianism, with the message “All Animals Have The Same Parts.”

According to a commissioner for the city, however, they were unable to grant PETA a permit to unveil the ad because, “it goes against all principles public organisations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women,” a commissioner for Montreal reportedly wrote to the organization in an e-mail.

Pamela, a longtime PETA supporter, noted she was deeply disappointed by the decision.

“In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens,” she said in a statement. “In some parts of the world, women are forced to cover their whole bodies with burqas—is that next? I didn’t think that Canada would be so puritanical.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pamela planned to unveil the ad in Place Jaques-Cartier, a Montreal location that is within eyeshot of a line of strip clubs.
