‘Outlander’ Season 1, Volume 2 Special Feature Sneak Peek (Exclusive)

The second half of “Outlander” Season 1 is out next Tuesday, but AccessHollywood.com has an exclusive sneak peek at one of the special features right now.

We’ve got a first look at a featurette from the DVD and Blu-Ray release, examining the weaving process that makes those gorgeous tartans that are worn in the Starz drama.

“It was important that we get it done here and that it be made as authentically as possible,” Costume Designer Terry Dresbach says in the clip.

Other special features on the DVD include a gag reel and the “Outlander” podcasts. The Blu-Ray has a few additional video exclusives, including “The Reckoning” extended episode, with an introduction by Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, Diana Gabaldon tours “Outlander,” a cast and crew table read and deleted scenes.

Season 2 of the Starz drama, starring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, is currently in production and will premiere on Starz next year.

“It is like a different show, it’s a different world,” Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser, told Access Hollywood at Comic-Con about Season 2. “Claire and Jamie were sort of thrust into this world that they’re not wholly familiar with and they’re not wholly comfortable with. They’re learning to sort of survive in this world. There’s a lot of politics, there’s a lot of backstabbing and all that sort of thing, but also, the hangover of Season 1, the fact that Claire’s pregnant, that they’re going to be parents, so there’s a lot of things they’re trying to deal with. And then the second half of the season is going to be back in Scotland and kind of back to mud and blood and yeah, everything we love.”
