Lindsay Lohan: ‘My Past Is My Past & It’s Been A Long One’

Being a tabloid target isn’t anything new for Lindsay Lohan – but that doesn’t mean she has gotten used to it.

“People telling lies about me to her and all this garbage. I’m really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work,” Lindsay said in a new interview with E! News, cautioning fans to not believe everything they read about her. “The only reason I go to clubs is to hear Samantha spin or be normal… I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs and I don’t lie… I love to act and write and be creative, and I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever may need it.”

And while she admits she has made some mistakes in the past, Lindsay has her sights set on her future.

“My past is my past and it’s been a long one, but I’m growing more and learning more day by day. I’m not the same person and I don’t make the same mistakes,” she added.

“I move forward and I change. Life’s too short not to.”

Rehabs and trouble with the law may have been cause for headlines about the starlet in the past, but a constant storyline of late has been Lindsay’s relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

“They need to stop saying we’re fighting,” Lindsay insisted.

And at the age of 22, Lindsay said there is still a lot she wants to accomplish in her career – as long as all the gossip and rumors don’t get in the way.

“I’d like to have my own charity, do work overseas, be in Oscar-nominated films, write movies, produce movies/shows/videos, design cloths, make music, write books,” she said. “It’s all possible if people would just stop judging me and accusing me and making me out to be this aloof, spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional person that I am not and could never be.”
