Snake Week: Only on Accesssssssssss!

by Scott Mantz

In the 15 years that I?ve been working in Hollywood, I have never seen anything quite like ?Snakes on a Plane.?

And I?m not even talking about the movie – that doesn?t open ?til August 18, and since it?s distributor, New Line, has opted not to screen the film in advance for critics, I have to wait to see it on opening day, just like everyone else.

But the fact is that I (and countless others) simply cannot wait to see ?Snakes on a Plane,? and for that, you can thank the film?s unheard-of advance buzz, which has been building on the Internet for months. Without even seeing a frame of the movie, anticipation is at a fever pitch, with fans dedicating websites and designing merchandise with nothing to go on but the name of the film (which, you guessed it, is about snakes on a plane).

But starting Friday, July 28, moviegoers will get their first look at a pop cultural phenomenon in the making, as Access Hollywood kicks off ?Snake Week? – 5 straight days of exclusive, never-before-seen clips, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of what?s sure to be the summer?s biggest movie (that is, if you don?t include ?Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man?s Chest?).

Here?s the breakdown?

Friday, July 28: Samuel L. Jackson and a slithery new friend grace the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, and we?ll have special behind the scenes footage of that fun photo shoot.

Monday; July 31, and Tuesday, August 1: An electronic press kit is sent out to the press with the release of every new movie, but the one for ?Snakes on a Plane? is so much fun, we had to feature it on two shows!

Wednesday, August 2: Chances are that you?ve never heard of Jules Sylvester, but you will now. Meet the charismatic snake wrangler for ?Snakes on a Plane,? who visited the Access Hollywood stage with about 50 of his closest friends.

Thursday, August 3: With every great movie comes?a great line of fashion. Check out some of the cool jewelry and attire inspired by ?Snakes on a Plane,? which even Samuel L. Jackson couldn?t get enough of!
