Touching Tributes Flood In From Susan Lucci, Sarah Michelle Gellar & More For Late Soap Creator Agnes Nixon

Susan Lucci is one of the many stars who have paid tribute
to “All My Children” creator and soap opera legend Agnes Nixon, who
died on Wednesday at the age of 93.

“I am devastated to learn
that we have lost Agnes,” Lucci wrote in an Instagram caption that
accompanied a photo of the two together. “I adored her and admired
her–and I am forever grateful to her! May this liveliest and loveliest of women
rest in peace.”

Bryan Cranston also paid tribute to  Agnes.

Josh Duhamel, who many fans got to know when he joined “All My Children,” shared a touching message on Instagram, next to a photo of Agnes holding the “AMC” book that was featured in the show’s opening for many years.

“Sad to hear of the passing of Agnes Nixon. I’m thankful everyday that she created ALL MY CHILDREN and the character that gave me my first shot in the business. She will be missed,” Josh, who played Leo on the soap, wrote.

Robin Strasser, who famously played Dorian Lord on “One Life to Live,” another of Agnes’ shows, wrote on Twitter, “Few can match the accomplishments of #AgnesNixon Her genius was a gift to many! She was generous, exacting, imaginative! Truly incomparable!”

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Erica Kane’s daughter, Kendall, also posted a touching tribute to Agnes on Instagram.

“This incredible woman#AgnesNixon not only created my incredible character #KendallHart, she created #AllMyChildren. And more importantly she was the epitome of class. I learned a lot from you Agnes #rip,” Sarah wrote.

Alicia Minshew, who also played Erica Kane’s daughter, Kendall, shared her grief over the soap legend’s passing.

“Just heard the sad news about the passing of the sweet and incredible genius #Agnesnixon. Makes me so sad. This is the last time I saw her. On the last shooting day of #AMC almost exactly 5 years ago,” she wrote to accompany a pic showing her next to Lucci (who played her mom, Erica), and creator Agnes. “I was lucky to spend that time with her. She was a class act and a true talent. She helped give me the life and friendships I have today. And for that I am truly grateful to her. We all miss her stories and now will miss her as well. Thoughts and prayers are being sent to her family. RIP sweet Agnes.”

“I had just started on All My Children when I had the honor of meeting Agnes Nixon. I introduced myself to her and she said she knew very well who I was and was so happy to know I had joined AMC. I was so happy to have joined and to have gotten to be part of history on daytime because of what SHE created. What a woman of grace, heart, kindness and talent.
