From Posh to J. Lo, we have the coifs that compliment your face shape at LA’s Warren-Tricomi

“It’s extremely important to know what kind of face shape you have,” says Kristin Ess, a celebrity hair stylist at the salon.

HEART SHAPE

“A heart shaped face would be described as almost an upside down triangle shape,” Ess explains.

Examples of celebs with heart shaped faces include Reese Witherspoon, Katie Holmes and of course, Victoria Beckham.

Hot on hearts this summer is the Beckham bob.

“If you were going to ask your stylist for this hair cut you would ask for an A-line graduated bob,” Kristin explains.

ROUND SHAPE

“[The round shape is] not such a square jaw line. It’s just softened here a little bit,” Kristin explains.

Examples of a star with the round look? Jennifer Lopez.

To get J. Lo’s rounded out, retro look curl your hair and pin in place.

“It gives it a little more of that ‘40s look,” Kristin explains.
SQUARE SHAPE

Kristin explains the square shape is when “you’ve got more of a square hairline and then you’ve got a definite square jaw line.”

Celebrities with the square shape include Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Walsh.

The TV doc, softens her silhouette with a side swept bang, but steer clear of the blunt bang – it isn’t as flattering.

“It doesn’t allow for any of the softness to come through,” Kristin explains.

LONG SHAPE

“A longer face shape would be less of a defined jaw line here and it comes down a little longer to her chin,” Kristin explains of this shape.

Long faced ladies like Gisele, Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica work it in waves. For summer though, add a fun beach braid like Jessica Simpson recently sported.
