Eddie Murphy Disturbed James Brown Hasn’t Been Buried

Eddie Murphy bases his character in “Dreamgirls” on James Brown, someone whose work he admires.

So it should be no surprise that Murphy is bothered by the fact that the late Godfather of Soul has yet to be laid to rest.

Speaking to reporters backstage after the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Murphy says he’s “weirded out” that Brown hasn’t been put in his final resting place. In fact, he says the fact that Brown has yet to be buried is “the strangest thing in the history of show business.”

Brown’s body was never buried after his funerals in late December. For a while the casket was kept in his Beech Island, South Carolina home. It’s now been moved — without explanation — to an undisclosed location.

Brown’s children have been talking about setting up an Elvis-like museum to honor the Godfather of Soul.
