Alums of “Homeland” and “Grey’s Anatomy” have joined the cast of CBS’ “Supergirl” pilot.
David Harewood is set to play Hank Henshaw, a former CIA agent (he was previously Carrie Mathison’s CIA boss on “Homeland”). Hank now runs the DEO (Department of Extra-Normal Operations). The group checks on threats on earth from extraterrestrials.
Playing the foster sister of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) is Chyler Leigh (“Grey’s”). Chyler’s character Alex Danvers turned her fascination with Kara’s powers into a science obsession, and she grew up to be a doctor.
Additionally, Access Hollywood has learned “The Flash” and “Arrow” Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg is officially on board as an executive producer for “Supergirl” alongside Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler.
David and Chyler join a growing cast, including Calista Flockhart as media magnate Cat Grant, Laura Benanti as Supergirl’s Krypton mom and Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen.
