TaleSpin: It’ll Be A Few Months Before Octuplets Go Home – Plus, A Suge Knight Update
OCTUPLETS UPDATE
An update now on the octuplets who are a product of Nadya Suleman and a so-far unverified sperm donor. The babies are making good progress according to Dr. Mandhir Gupta, a Neonatologist at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center. The heaviest was 3.25 lbs at birth and is now 3.61 lbs, and the littlest was 1.5 lbs at birth and is now 1.76 lbs.
The other news from Dr. Gupta is that it will be a few months before the babies can go home. The hospital says premature babies are usually ready to go home when they reach “normal newborn weight,” which can be about 6 lbs or so.
That may take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months. That’s a lot of time in the hospital and a lot of zeroes for whoever ultimately pays the hospital bill.
SUGE KNIGHT
We think rap music legend Suge Knight is recovering at a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona after a fracas in Phoenix. OK, it was Scottsdale and that’s near Phoenix, but “Fracas in Phoenix” just sounds so good.
Suge’s troubles started sometime before 3:30 Monday morning at that city’s W Hotel. Hotel security called police because things were heating up between two sets of guests in the VIP area by the second floor pool. According to the police report, “Officers arrived and watched a group of about 6 – 8 guests exiting the VIP area. They saw one person; later identified as Robert Carnes Jr., punch the victim in the head two times. Officers deployed Tasers to quell the fight that erupted.
Officers arrested Carnes Jr. and (Thomas Leon) Anderson for assault and disorderly conduct. The victim was transported to SHC-Osborn hospital where he was treated for facial injuries. Carnes Jr. reported to officers that he is employed as the business manager for singer ‘Akon.’”
The “victim” in the police report is Mr. Knight, formerly the big dog at Death Row records. Mr. Carnes is charged with one count of Felony Aggravated Assault, due to the severity of the victim’s injuries. Mr. Anderson is charged with one count of misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. Both suspects were booked into Scottsdale City jail and are being held in custody.
