‘Empire’ Season 2 First Look: Cookie In A Cage With A Microphone!

The new teaser for “Empire” Season 2 is here and it’s leaving us counting the days until the September return!

Let’s start off with the best and most important moment – Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie Lyon is in a cage with a microphone in hand. Don’t even get us going on her feathers and lace ensemble! Will she sing? Why the cage? Why does is she looking so pissed, yet fierce? Is that a gold microphone she’s holding? Bow down to the queen, other ladies of primetime, bow down!

Other gems in the super short teaser include:

• Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is helping to free his dad Lucious (Terrence Howard) at a concert and promoting the #FreeLucious hashtag
• Lucious is still in jail and rocking an orange jumpsuit
• Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) is so over walking and has a new toy to prove it!
• Andre (Trai Byers) seems to be back on his meds and back from the abyss and ready to lead
• Anika “Boo Boo Kitty” (Grace Gealey) seems tight with the family and has healed from her Season 1 finale brawl with Cookie

The upcoming season will include a slew of guest stars, including Marisa Tomei, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and “Magic Mike’s” Adam Rodriguez.
