Taylor Swift’s ‘Amazing’ Night At CMA Awards
Taylor Swift did what only one other woman in the history of country music had done before her — win Entertainer of the Year twice at the CMA Awards.
“I’m so excited. This is wonderful. Crazy, jumping up and down. Backstage it was just a mess of my family and friends, everybody just freaking out. It’s amazing,” the 21-year-old, who joins Barbara Mandrell as the only two-time female artist to take home the honor, told Access Hollywood backstage after her big win.
“It’s been amazing. The fans have just continued to top themselves every single year. It’s just wonderful that they were so amazing this year that the CMA voters decided to give me this again. It’s my second time winning,” the singer, who took home the award first in 2009, continued. “The first time I won Entertainer of the Year, I was like, ‘This is the best thing that’s ever going to happen to me.’ Then it happened again. It’s crazy.”
Taylor also explained to Access what the hand-written notes on the inside of her arm were about.
When she took the stage to accept her award, Taylor read names off the notes written on her arm.
“This is a list of people that I wanted to thank, because they were the artists that came out and did special guests performances on my tour,” she explained. “I wanted to thank them, so I did, and I didn’t want to forget anybody. There are 18 people to thank.”
And how was Taylor planning on celebrating her big win?
“There is some sort of after party that people are going to… I’m so excited. There’s going to be so much jumping up and down,” she continued.
But, not too much jumping.
Taylor said she’ll be back doing what she does best bright and early.
Adding, “And then a recording session at 8 AM tomorrow.”
