At a recent screening of the “Arrow” Season 3 premiere for TV reporters, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim addressed Katrina’s return as Nyssa, and how it relates to Sara’s death.
“Her finding out that Sara’s dead is going to be a big deal,” he said. “And we love Katrina and we love the character of Nyssa and I actually feel like with Sara’s death, Nyssa becomes so much more important because I feel like, one thing I do think that Sara did was provide us a cool, ass kicking female character on the show and Nyssa definitely fits that bill quite well.”

Marc also said that the story of Caity’s character, Sara Lance, isn’t over.
“You’re going to see her in [Episode 2 of the season], and then you’re gonna see her in at least a third episode and the truth isââ¬Â¦ we have stories that involve Caity Lotz and one of the beautiful parts on the show is we do flashbacks and we still want to tell the story of what happened when Sara washed on the shores of Lian Yuââ¬Â¦ and how she met Nyssa and how she joined the League of Assassins. There’s still a lot of story left to be told with Sara,” Guggenheim said.
“Arrow” continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
