New Details On Sandra Bullock Attack Suspect

The woman who tried to run over Sandra Bullock’s husband Jesse James has been arrested, Orange County Sheriff Department Public Information Officer Jim Amormino confirms to KNBC.

Marcia Diane Valentine, 45, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after she and her car (the “deadly weapon” in question) were pulled over and positively identified by James.

According to Amormino, Valentine was parked in front of Bullock & James’ home on Sunday April 22 around 10:30am. Bullock came down to tell her to leave. Valentine reportedly started yelling obscenities at James, and then spotted him talking on his cell phone — at which point she attempted to run over him 3 or 4 times in what has been identified as a silver Mercedes.

Every time James jumped out of the way, she tried to run him down again.

After the 4th unsuccessful attempt, she reportedly took off down the Pacific Coast Highway. James called 911; but the police were unable to find her.

The next morning (Monday), at 9:30AM, an officer spotted a car, which matched the description, and the driver also matched — a white female in her 40s, approx 5’4” with “medium blond hair”.

An in-field show up was conducted, and James was contacted by the police. The pullover location was close to James and Bullock’s home, and he came to the scene and positively I.D.‘d the woman as his attacker.

She was arrested, and transferred to Santa Ana Women’s Jail, with bail set at $25,000.

Valentine was free on bail as of Tuesday, and is set to be in court on May 22.

The Huntington Beach resident may face additional charges, says Amormino, adding, “investigators believe that the suspect is an obsessed fan of Sandra Bullock.”

A source told Access’ Tony Potts, “It’s pretty dumb to not only mess with Jesse, but with a guy whose house has the most guns in it. It’s like, let’s poke the alligator in the eye — not a smart thing to do.”

James and Bullock’s personal publicist tells Access, “Both Jesse James and Sandra Bullock are fine and it is now in the hands of the authorities.”
