Colin Farrell Reveals He Was Once A Murder Suspect As A Teen
Colin Farrell was once detained as a suspect in an attempted murder case, the “True Detective” star revealed to Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night.
Jimmy welcomed Colin and his “True Detective” co-star, Vince Vaughn, to “The Tonight Show” for a game of “True Confessions,” where the trio grilled each other over some scandalous accusations – both real and made-up, and then had to guess who was telling the truth.
As it turns out, Colin wasn’t lying when he claimed he was questioned for murder as a teen.
“I was in Sydney, Australia and I was pulled in by the cops and they showed me a photo… a pencil sketch of the guy that attempted to murder this other gentleman… and it was me!” Colin explained. “And they said, ‘What do you think about that picture?’ and I said, ‘I think I’m in trouble.’ It was terrifying. I was there for about six hours.”
So how did the actor get out of the jam?
“Thankfully, a friend of mine had kept a journal and that particular night at that particular time, we were at a party [on] the other side of town doing ecstasy,” Colin revealed.
“I’m still here baby!” he joked.
When it was Jimmy’s turn to confess, his revelation took on a lighter tone.
“I got my head stuck in a fence and my grandma used mayonnaise to squeeze me out,” the late night host claimed, prompting Colin and Vince to grill him over the validity of his statement.
Unfortunately for Jimmy, his story was — also true.
“It was a summer day… it was really hot… I was crying… and my grandma rubbed mayonnaise on my hair and all over my head to squeeze me out of it,” Jimmy recounted. “I think that’s why I don’t like mayonnaise.”
