John Stamos & Rob Lowe Joke About Secret Relationship: ‘We’ve Dated For Years’
Is one of Hollywood’s newest “couples” also one of its most handsome? John Stamos and Rob Lowe may have more in common than just good looks.
The actors, both 51, were promoting their upcoming Fox comedies at the Television Critics Association summer tour in Los Angeles on Thursday, and revealed a friendly camaraderie as strong as their jawlines.
When asked if he and fellow heartthrob Stamos have ever bonded over the years, Lowe joked that the “Grandfathered” star was being considered for an exclusive clique.

“As a founding member of Jimmy Kimmel’s Handsome Men’s Club, Stamos has been up for membership. So far, the board hasn’t voted him yet,” Lowe deadpanned. “Sting is really lobbying hard. David Beckham is blackballed, every time he’s gotten close. But I am looking forward to when John eventually makes it in. It’s a wonderful club and we enjoy it very much.”
Stamos heard the entire exchange and surprised the crowd with input of his own.

“Tell the truth, Rob!” he shouted from the back of the room. “We’ve dated for years!”
Lowe divulged more details about the duo’s past shenanigans, but admitted his memory was a bit hazy.
“There’s a rumor in my lost decade, I may or may not have sat on a lifeguard tower at a Beach Boys concert as John was playing the drums,” he began. “There’s talk I did it. I don’t remember it. I’ve seen footage of it, but I have very little memory. That was my John Stamos moment. He’s a hell of a drummer.”
While the actors enjoyed their brief reunion at Thursday’s event, they might not be able to team up again for some time. Besides “Grandfathered,” Stamos is also in production on the Netflix reboot “Fuller House.” Lowe, meanwhile, is busy with his Fox series “The Grinder” and a role on NBC’s “You, Me and the End of the World.”
