Healthy Hollywood: Fab Food Friday – Jennifer Hudson’s Secret To Keeping The Weight Off!
Jennifer Hudson looks absolutely stunning! I recently chatted with the beaming new mom at the launch of Weight Watchers’ third annual “Lose For Good” campaign, which teaches children how to be healthy.
First off, Jennifer is sweet, down to earth, and one of the most positive celebs out there – appreciative of her success and, of course, her new bod!
After slimming down from a reported size 16 to a size 6, Jennifer still can’t believe it, adding, “My mind has not caught up to it yet, the only time I see this is when I’m looking at a photograph… so when I look in the mirror or when I see a photo that’s when I see the new me.”
Jennifer is mum on how many pounds she’s lost, but she will credit her new physique to Weight Watchers (for whom she’s a spokesperson) and hitting the gym five times a week. “It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle, and it teaches you so much and I think it’s amazing.” Don’t ever expect this Grammy winner to get too thin, stating, “I have to have them curves.” Yet, the trick is maintaining the perfect weight and keeping it off for good!
She’s lucky her fiancé, wrestler David Otunga, is a fitness fanatic and gets her to the gym. “I love some cardio, and David, he’s all about all the weights…I do strength training to maintain being toned, but we’re kind of on two different pages…but we support each other.”
As for her nutrition plan, Jennifer is still “trying to nail down her ideal weight,” according to her Weight Watchers weight loss coach, Liz Josefsberg. But, Liz reveals Jennifer’s top tips to keeping her in the weight loss zone.
1. Write down what you eat. It keeps you on track and accountable.
2. Drink water! Stay hydrated. This ensures that you don’t mistake hunger for thirst.
3. Work in the foods that you love. One of the best things about the Weight Watchers program is that there are no forbidden foods. Don’t deprive yourself of the foods that make you happy. Learn to work them in in moderation.
4. Don’t be dramatic. Make small changes that add up and don’t make you feel like you are on a diet. Losing weight is not about drama, it’s about consistency.
5. Get support. The weight loss process is too hard alone.
You can be sure Jennifer’s 1-year-old son, David Jr., will grow up eating healthy. “I am definitely going to use the Weight Watchers structure to bring him up…He’s one so he is very aware and he is already watching.” Jennifer also wants to inspire other children to eat healthy through her new “Lose For Good” campaign.
