Netflix Releases First ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Prequel Trailer
Up and at ’em, campers. Netflix has released a full-length, NSFW trailer for its “Wet Hot American Summer” prequel series.
The streaming service dropped a vintage teaser for “First Day of Camp” in June, but gave fans a more official peek at the Camp Firewood crew on Thursday.
Returning favorites include Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, Janeane Garofalo, Ken Marino, Michael Ian Black, Christopher Meloni and Paul Rudd, all reuniting for another goofy go-round that made the 2001 original a cult classic.

The gang’s still got it, but they do have some added help this time, as a few familiar faces join in the fun. Kristen Wiig makes her “Wet Hot” debut as a sexy counselor, while “Mad Men” alums Jon Hamm and John Slattery find themselves a long way from Madison Avenue.
Jason Schwartzman, Jordan Peele, Michael Cera, “Weird” Al Yankovic, Chris Pine, Josh Charles and Lake Bell also have bunks on reserve.

Meanwhile, “Archer” star H. Jon Benjamin, whose contribution to the first film involved voicing a can of vegetables, now appears in live-action form as an exasperated camp supervisor. Writer and co-star Michael Showalter also tries on a new role as President Ronald Reagan, in addition to reprising his original “WHAS” character, Coop.
The eight-episode throwback will be packed and ready for viewing on Netflix July 31.
