Taraji P. Henson is gearing up to host “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and she is almost ready for the big show.

“I trained in theater, so improvisation that’s what we do,” Taraji told Access Hollywood on Tuesday. “That doesn’t intimidate me at all. It’s just the live part that’s a little bit of an intimidation.”

The Oscar-nominee is riding high on the success of her Fox drama “Empire,” but there may not be a skit inspired by her hit series.

“You know what, when I went and met with the writers and they came up with some ideas, not one ‘Empire’ idea,” she said.

When “Avengers” star Chris Hemsworth hosted recently, there was a skit inspired by her hit show, and while there may or may not be one this weekend, Taraji is being sure to train up at least one “SNL” castmember in Cookie etiquette.

“I just showed Taran [Killam] how to give attitude with the neck and the hand on the hip and I think he’d make a great Cookie. He’d make a good macadamia nut, white chocolate Cookie,” she said.

And she even had some costuming advice.

“Maybe a leopard suit with a hat and leopard shoes to match,” Taraji said,

Hosting “SNL” happens while Taraji is on a break from “Empire.” Production on the Fox drama begins in the summer, and while she doesn’t know what the writers have planned, she is hoping that Season 2 will examine what life was like for Cookie when she was incarcerated.

“I’m actually interested in the 17 years she was locked up. I want to know about that. That’s a long time,” she said.

Catch Taraji on “SNL” on Saturday night at 11:30 PM ET/PT on NBC.
