The Situation: ‘I Love Being The Underdog’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino might be the king of the “Jersey Shore,” but the reality star told Access Hollywood he’s a bit nervous about his new ballroom gig on “Dancing with the Stars.”
“A tiny bit,” The Situation told Access’ Shaun Robinson on Sunday at the MTV VMAs, when asked if he was nervous for his latest reality venture.
“But at the same time, I just need to get down to steps,” he continued. “I’m a big athlete, so I should be all right.”
However, the reality star — who will be paired with pro dancer Karina Smirnoff — said his fist-pumping club moves won’t be a big help in the ballroom.
“I got my own dance moves, but at the same time these are not regular dance moves,” he told Shaun. “These are like steps. So, once I get down my steps, hopefully I should be OK. You’ve got to practice like every day.”
The Situation, unlike the rest of his “Dancing” co-stars, hasn’t even started rehearsing.
“I’ll be honest with you, my first day of practice is on Monday,” he explained. “I just finished filming [Season 3 of] ‘Jersey Shore’ and I just flew to LA, so I just got here… I’m gonna try my hardest… hopefully I should be OK.”
Adding, “If anybody has got a shot, it is The Situation. I love being the underdog!”
